Due to the extended break in grassroots football, we’re going to stop the weekly 5MFC emails for a few weeks. But we will be back soon, promised!
For now, here are 3 videos you might enjoy!
First, an inside look into the Afewee football academy in Brixton, South London. A pretty thought-provoking picture of a club 100% focused on trying to develop football stars, and not without success - taking away the fun of football but providing an education and a chance, even if small, to actually live your dream.
Second, a documentary on grassroots football - wobbly lines and muddy pitch included. Set in Dorset but it would look pretty much the same anywhere in the UK I suspect. Note this is 5 years old: the new measures from the FA have helped a lot no doubt, although facilities are still in serious need of investment.
Finally, Zidane. What a player!
