🥅 Game of the week
A 4v4+1 small-side game for attacking with an overload:
This weeks @TacticalPad session of the week is 4v4 + 1. A great drill for attacking players to quickly adapt to superior numbers.
📖 Topic of the week
‘Making a pass which is playable first-time’ is a great coaching point. Paul McGuinness provides two good examples:
“Leaving your pass playable 1st time” is a vital skill as it allows the receiver to choose what he wants to do next without having another touch - it allows him to look around as the ball is on its way - play 1st time - disguise a pass or let the ball run
The weight & smooth pass allows Iniesta time to orientate his body sideways look up for information (as it’s travelling towards him) arrange his feet to accept the ball & drag it forward into his path - flowing football requires players to give a pass that sets up the next action
