Hi there,

I hope you’re well. Here are your coaching tips for this week:

⚽️ Practice of the week

First, a simple practice on building out from the goal keeper, with 3v2 situations. Good for quick decision making, identifying ‘free’ teammates, and more:

🥅 Session of the week

Next, a whole session plan dedicated to keeping possession through quick passing in different directions:

Tonight's U15 session - first one back after a Covid break. Taking inspiration from @power_ray new book 50 Rondo and Positional Play practices. Really enjoyable session, lots of engagement and some great football. Second practice was a really good one for the goalkeepers.

📖 Topic of the week

Lastly, coaching football is very much about teaching. What theories of education can we use to guide our coaching? Innerdrive has a great blog on ‘Rosenshine’s Principles of Instruction’, and how these are informed by 7 key strategies.

I hope you enjoyed this! Until next time, have a great week

Fabrice
